Tottenham Hotspur suffered a disappointing defeat in their latest Premier League outing last night.

Antonio Conte took his side to Old Trafford with the chance of moving into second place and just one point off the top with Manchester City and Arsenal’s game postponed.

However, Spurs were poor on the night and didn’t deserve anything from the game nor did they get it as they lost 2-0 to Manchester United.

There were lacklustre displays across the board but the usually imperious Harry Kane had a particularly underwhelming showing.

Writing for football.london Alasdair Gold awarded the striker a 4/10 rating for his performance and attached the following comment:

Sent some glorious balls out to Doherty early in the first half and had a shot saved by De Gea before the break. Anonymous though for much of the second half apart from one saved effort at the back post when he was offside.’

TIF Thoughts on Kane and Tottenham…

Will Harry Kane end up at Bayern Munich?

Yes

Yes

No

No

The Englishman has enjoyed a fine start to the season but like his teammates struggled to get to grips with United.

Kane had scored nine goals and was on his longest-ever scoring streak in the league, having netted in each of the last fast matches, but he failed to make his mark in Manchester.

He had just 39 touches and completed just 62% of his passes giving the ball away 19 times.

For once the 29-year-old was unable to operate as that useful outlet at the top end of the pitch for his side as he lost three of his nine ground duels but you would expect him to bounce back against Newcastle on Sunday.

The whole team will because if they don’t, all of sudden there is a totally different outlook on Tottenham’s campaign.

Yesterday was a disaster. Why cannot we play like we used to see when Poch was in charge. This defensive football is lousy and will not win any honours. If anybody thinks that they are more important than the club he is wrong and if he does not like it he knows where the front door is. Our supporters pay good money to see a match and we do not except to see this crap of play. NO PLAYER OR STAFF ARE MORE IMPORTANT THAN THE CLUB AND THEIR SUPPORTERS. REMEMBER THAT US SUPPORTERS PAY FOR YOUR WAGES. SOME OF YOU EARN MORE THAN A COMMON MAN EARNS IN A YEAR.
