Sky Sports pundit and former Tottenham goalkeeper Paul Robinson believes the club may accept an £88m offer for Harry Kane next summer.

Kane is under contract in north London until 2024 but interest from elsewhere has raised questions regarding his long-term future.

According to Bild (via SportWitness), his name has been ‘hotly debated’ by Bayern Munich officials, and the English striker is on their ‘list’ of the Bavarian giants as they head into next summer’s market.

The 29-year-old himself has insisted that he remains focused on his current employers but Robinson feels that Daniel Levy may be tempted to accept the £88m that Bayern are reportedly willing to offer.

He told Football Insider:

“I think £88million for a player with 12 months left on his contract would be good business.

“Regardless of who you are, that is a big transfer fee considering you are into the final year of your contract. That would be a pretty good deal for Spurs.

“Do not get me wrong though, Spurs have to exhaust every opportunity to tie him down to a new deal. He is invaluable and in many ways irreplaceable. There are few players in the world on his level. To replace him is almost impossible. They have to do everything they can to get him to sign a new deal.

“If he doesn’t sign one, £88million would be a great deal. Clubs allow players to leave on a free far too often. It really frustrates me when clubs don’t protect their assets.

“Knowing Spurs, I’m sure talks are already going on behind the scenes about Kane’s future. You do not leave something like that to the last minute.”

Will Harry Kane end up at Bayern Munich?

That sort of fee would certainly be acceptable for a man who will be 30 next July but Kane would indeed be a hard man to replace.

He has been in incredible form once again at the start of this campaign scoring nine goals and providing another in the first ten Premier League games of the season.

The 75-cap England international is also currently on his longest active scoring run in the top flight having netted in each of his last five outings.

With a 7.52 average match rating (SofaScore) he is also Antonio Conte’s best-performing player in the division and renewing terms must be the club’s main priority although it remains to be seen where his future lies.
