Tony Scott has brutally slammed Everton’s inability to take big chances and score goals on the All Together Now podcast.

Everton are currently the league’s third-lowest scorers having netted just eight times and it’s a clear issue having scored more than two goals in a game just once, which will be a major worry for fans and Frank Lampard.

Especially when their next game is away to Newcastle United, who currently boast the best defence in the league, meaning that Everton are likely going to struggle once again in front of goal, much like they did on Saturday evening squandering numerous glorious chances vs Tottenham Hotspur.

It was those chances that led Scott to slam Everton’s does in the final third this season.

(6:00) “Did I expect anything from the game? No, did I think that we’d create many chances? No, but the ones that we did create you’ve got to take and I thought Everton, weren’t naive, but it’s weird isn’t it?

Will Everton beat Newcastle?

Yes!

Yes!

No!

No!

“Because when we’re doing our predictions every single week, Greg we’ll go we’re going to win this 3-1 or 2-1, but hang on here, let’s be real we’re not going to score, we’ve scored eight goals all season.

“It’s a recipe for disaster unless we start getting our shooting boots on Greg, we’re just counting down the days until January.”

TIF Thoughts on Everton’s attacking woes…

It’s no surprise that Everton are struggling for goals given that their main striker, Dominic Calvert-Lewin, hasn’t started a game all season and the replacement, Neal Maupay, has never been prolific in the Premier League with his best return in front of goal being 10 strikes in 30 starts, and that was back during the 2019/20 campaign.

Which of these Serie A stars did the Toffees miss out on?

That may not be about to change anytime soon either given that during his latest pre-match press conference, Frank Lampard was rather coy when it came to Calvert-Lewin, not giving too much away in regards to his fitness and if he would start vs Newcastle.
