Tottenham Hotspur are now in discussions with Harry Kane over the possibility of the striker putting pen to paper on a new deal.

This has been suggested by reliable transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, who has been speaking on his YouTube channel about the Englishman’s future.

It has been suggested the England captain is the subject of strong interest from German giants Bayern Munich ahead of next summer’s transfer window.

However, with under two years remaining on his current deal in north London, there is a belief the Lilywhites want to secure his long-term future in N17.

Romano has suggested the club and Kane are actively discussing the possibility of him once again signing a new and improved deal at Spurs.

He said: “As of now, there is still no full agreement, no breakthrough in the talks between Harry Kane and Tottenham to extend the contract.

“This is not a dangerous situation, guys. It’s simply a normal situation. They’re speaking, they’re discussing, they have a good relationship, but as of today, there is still no full agreement.

“Let’s see what happens in the next weeks and months, because Tottenham want to extend Harry Kane’s contract, they want to have Harry Kane as [the] face of the project for the future, but as of now, it’s still not the case of saying, ‘ok, we have full agreement on everything’, so a work in progress.”

TIF Thoughts on Romano’s comments…

This will certainly be a big boost to all Spurs fans, with reports surrounding Bayern’s interest not going anywhere after Julian Nagelsmann’s side lost Robert Lewandowski over the summer.

Do you think Kane would be open to leaving?

Yes

Yes

No

No

Although it is something which may not bear thinking about for Spurs fans, it will be massively important for them to get this potential new deal wrapped up before the end of the upcoming window, as if Kane decides against a new deal, the summer will be the last real opportunity for Spurs to demand a decent fee for the England captain.

The striker would obviously have a great opportunity to land his first trophy with the German side, however, he is also chasing a Premier League legacy in beating Alan Shearer’s goalscoring record, which will make for an interesting decision from Kane.
