90min journalist Graeme Bailey has claimed Newcastle United have ‘a real possibility’ to sign Christian Pulisic on loan this summer before the window shuts.

The Magpies have been linked with loan moves for numerous Chelsea stars this summer, with Conor Gallagher, Armando Broja and Pulisic among those thought to be of interest on Tyneside.

However, Newcastle are limited to one domestic loan signing from Chelsea. As a result, Eddie Howe will have to be wise with his choice as he can only bring in one of these linked players on a temporary basis, and Bailey claims bringing in American international Pulisic is a real possibility.

Bailey told the Fully Loaded Transfer Show: “Armando Broja, possibility; Christian Pulisic, a real possibility as well on loan. And let’s remember they’ve only got this one loan they can do from Chelsea, so it’s a big consideration this year, you’ve got to use this loan slot wisely.”

How well do you remember Newcastle's January transfer window? An easy one to start with: where did Newcastle sign Bruno Guimaraes from?

TIF Thoughts on Pulisic to Newcastle…

Deciding who to bring in is going to be a very important decision for the Newcastle brass, as they need new attackers in the striker and winger positions, but also need to bring in midfield reinforcements.

We believe bringing in a talented winger is the most important acquisition for Newcastle, as they have the likes of Callum Wilson shining this season, while Bruno Guimaraes and Joelinton have already impressed in their first three games.

While Allan Saint-Maximin showed his class during the Magpies’ latest game against Manchester City, they could do with an improvement on the other flank and replace Miguel Almiron, who has started there so far this season.

Having already signed Sven Botman and Nick Pope and with Alexander Isak seemingly on the way, it’s safe to say that Pulisic would be another exciting signing.

Pulisic can add goals as well as a defensive presence to the team, as last season he scored eight times and ranks in the 86th percentile for non-penalty goals, as well as in the 75th for blocks, 74th for pressures and the 70th for clearances per game compared to those in his position over the past year.

We feel a front three consisting of Wilson, Saint-Maximin and Pulisic would be hugely exciting for fans and will give Newcastle a real chance of pushing further into the top half and challenging for a European spot come the end of the season.
