Newcastle United’s Bruno Guimaraes is a player that the Spanish giants Real Madrid have a lot of interest in following the recent departure of Casemiro.

This is according to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, who has been speaking on the Que Golazo YouTube channel about the Toon’s plans for the remainder of the window.

Carlo Ancelotti has now seen one of his midfield mainstays in Casemiro depart for Manchester United, which has seen Newcastle’s Brazilian linked with a potential move to the Santiago Bernabeu.

Bruno has quickly become a hugely important member of Eddie Howe’s side, having established himself as a regular in the starting XI after an impressive start to life on Tyneside.

With interest coming from the European champions, Romano has provided his insight on the Magpies’ stance over a potential deal.

He said: “A player they really love is Bruno Guimaraes from Newcastle, but he’s absolutely untouchable. There is no possibility to negotiate for Guimaraes with Newcastle this summer.”

TIF Thoughts on Romano’s comments…

We do not think there will be any immediate concern from those at St James’ Park over the potential of losing Bruno given he only signed back in January, and that fans will be mightily relieved that there is no appetite on Tyneside to entertain this interest from Real Madrid.

However, this may act as a warning to the owners that they will need to match the Brazilian midfielder’s ambitions in the near future if they do want to keep him on Tyneside.

Even before Newcastle signed him, Bruno was a reported target for Arsenal, so if Newcastle are unable to make a serious push for European football in the coming seasons, perhaps the midfielder will seriously consider his future.

But we feel that this apparent stance from Newcastle shows they are keen to build on the foundations they have laid in place through their recent takeover and Guimaraes’ signing, which can only be a positive sign for the club moving forward.
