According to Fabrizio Romano, Fulham have sent a proposal to sign left-back Layvin Kurzawa before the transfer deadline – and claims the player is ‘keen’ on a move.
They have not been linked to many players at the back, but according to Romano, the club are currently in talks with French giants Paris Saint-Germain to bring left-back Kurzawa to the club as he is now surplus to requirements in the French capital.
Romano revealed they sent a proposal to the club for their defender as manager Marco Silva is a big fan of Kurzawa, and the player himself would like to make the switch to the Premier League.
He said on the Que Golazo YouTube channel: “It is [potentially] the most imminent deal because they are discussing with Paris Saint-Germain. They submitted a proposal during the weekend for a permanent transfer of Kurzawa.
“The player is keen on the move. I’m told that Marco Silva is a big fan, he’d love to sign Kurzawa, but let’s see if Paris Saint-Germain will agree on the fee. So, there are negotiations ongoing.”
TIF Thoughts on Kurzawa to Fulham…
Fulham have done well to improve their squad so far, and adding a defender like Kurzawa, who has experience in winning in the top competitions in football like the Champions League, will only help their chances of survival further.
While he has barely played since the Parisian team bought in Nuno Mendes – making just one appearance last season – he has a lot of experience having featured made 153 times for PSG in his career, recording 14 goals and 23 assists in that time.
However, there is no doubt this move is a risk as Kurzawa is untested in the Premier League and has faced a lot of time sidelined over the last few seasons to injuries, but if he can perform well throughout the season and help them stay up, this deal is perfect. We will have to wait and see whether the club can pull this off.
