Presenter Dan Lawless has expressed his concern after hearing talk that the powers West Ham United are growing ‘frustrated’ with the club’s transfer situation.

So far this summer, the Hammers have brought in the likes of Nayef Aguerd, Flynn Downes and Alphonse Areola – spending just under £50m in the process.

However, they have just missed out on long term target Jesse Lingard who has opted to move to Premier League rivals Nottingham Forest instead.

In light of the current situation, club insider ExWHUemployee revealed (via West Ham Central): “All parties are getting frustrated with our transfer situation and there will be a recruitment meeting to identify the next moves. Should we continue to push for our current targets or move onto others.”

In response to this, Lawless took to Twitter to vent his own feelings on the situation and he certainly didn’t seem optimistic about things.

Indeed, he wrote: “17 days until the season starts, this news is worrying. The fact that nothing has gone to plan and we have to now meet to identify what the next moves are doesn’t bode well for getting the players we need in. This is going to be a very nervy transfer window.”

TIF thoughts on West Ham and their transfer plans…

While the Hammers may well have missed out on the free signing of Lingard, they certainly seem to have plenty of other irons in the fire at the moment too.

Indeed, it is widely understood that Armando Broja of Chelsea has been the club’s priority for the summer. However, with that deal developing into a little bit of a saga too, it’s not hard to see why those behind the scenes at West Ham are getting ‘frustrated’.

Taking everything into account, Lawless will likely not be alone in fearing how the final few weeks of the transfer market will play out – especially with the new Premier League season edging ever closer.
