Journalist Ryan Taylor has claimed that West Ham United will sign Jesse Lingard despite recent rumours stating otherwise.

One of the main talking points of this summer transfer window has revolved around the future of Jesse Lingard who is currently without a club.

Indeed, having just left Manchester United, the Hammers have been heavily linked with a move for the attacking midfielder. However, a recent report in The Mirror claims that Tottenham Hotspur have ‘made contact’ with the player – while Everton and Newcastle United supposedly want him too.

Despite that, Taylor has stated that West Ham will eventually land their man. Speaking on the Tottenham Fan Chris Cowlin YouTube channel, he said (55:02): “I know Jesse Lingard is obviously one that has been linked [with Spurs] in the past few days, but I expect him to join West Ham.”

TIF thoughts on Jesse Lingard and West Ham…

On top of these recent rumours linking Lingard with a move to a number of Premier League, trusted transfer insider ExWHUemployee also stated back in April that a deal was looking unlikely for the Irons.

Even so, Lingard’s future remains up in the air for the time being, and Taylor has confidently claimed that the Englishman will be making a return to London to play in claret and blue once more.

If that is the case, West Ham and David Moyes will hope to see the kind of form – nine goals and five assists in 16 games – he displayed in his loan spell with the club. And, after such a dragging saga, it’s probably the least they could ask for.
