Insider ExWHUemployee has claimed that Jesse Lingard seems unlikely to join West Ham United despite future talks.

Last season, the Manchester United man enjoyed a fruitful loan spell with the Hammers. As a result, he has long been linked with a move back to east London, though nothing concrete has come to pass as of yet.

With his contract set to expire in the summer, West Ham would seem like a natural destination. However, while talking on The West Ham Way podcast, Ex suggested that a move isn’t likely to happen despite the fact that talks between the player and club are still set to take place.

When mentioning possible free agents the Irons could sign, he said: “You’ve got Lingard, although I think Lingard is going to be more than likely not joining us at this point.

“But talks will still happen with him.”

TIF Thoughts on Jesse Lingard and West Ham…

Moyes has had to deal with a whole host of injuries and centre-back and Craig Dawson being sent off, so now seeing that he may not get a player who he likes and seemingly wants will surely come as another bitter blow from the past week.

As alluded to earlier, the Englishman had a pretty good time with the Hammers during his short spell at the club. Indeed, he scored an impressive nine goals and claimed a further five assists in just 16 appearances.

This season, he hasn’t been able to show his quality with Manchester United and has been limited to just 335 minutes of Premier League football – scoring twice in that time.

Considering the form he found at West Ham, it is a pity Ex claims a reunion does not seem likely at this stage. Still, if talks do indeed happen, perhaps something will change and all parties can come to an agreement to finally get a permanent switch across the line.

Only time will tell.
