Journalist Ryan Taylor has claimed that Tottenham Hotspur deals for Clement Lenglet and Djed Spence still remain ‘touch and go’ if they want to be part of the club’s preseason tour to South Korea.

It is well known this summer that Spurs are on the hunt in the current market for a new right wing-back as well as an extra number in the middle of their defence.

And it looks as though they could have found their ideal targets. Indeed, Spence of Middlesbrough looks like he could be joining, and the same can be said of Lenglet who may soon arrive from Barcelona.

However, with both of those deals not quite across the line just yet, Taylor has claimed that nothing is guaranteed at this stage which could be of concern to some fans.

When speaking about the club’s business on the Tottenham Fan Chris Cowlin YouTube channel, Taylor said (06:36): “If Spurs managed to get the six signings over the line before the South Korea trip, which looks a bit touch and go at the moment with Lenglet, and certainly Spence – which is still, you know, not necessarily a guarantee at this moment in time.”

TIF thoughts on Tottenham and their targets…

Antonio Conte has certainly added plenty of depth to his squad already this summer, and those players – like Fraser Forster, Richarlison, Yves Bissouma and Ivan Perisic – were all officially named as Tottenham players before the trip to South Korea.

However, as alluded to above by Taylor, the situation with Lenglet and Spence remains unclear with their future’s not yet decided.

The Premier League outfit will no doubt want to give themselves as best a shot as possible at having a successful campaign. With that in mind, Conte may well push to get a few more deals across the line so that his new signings can acclimatise to his management style during that trip to South Korea.
