Journalist Craig Hope has highlighted the skillset that Bruno Guimaraes could provide Newcastle United with this season.
Having been brought in for a hefty fee of around £40m in January, Guimaraes has become a fan favourite very quickly at Newcastle and looks to have been a superb piece of business by the Magpies, having registered six goal involvements in just 11 league starts.
The Brazilian managed to register a goal and assist during the club’s match against 1860 Munich last week despite only coming on in the second half, and after seeing how involved he was in a lot of good things against Burnley on Saturday, it could be a big season for Guimaraes.
Hope, who was out in Austria during Newcastle’s pre-season tour, has spoken about what it was like to see the Brazilian up close.
He said: “I was fortunate to be pitchside for this game in Austria last week and, from such close proximity, you appreciate more how clever Bruno Guimaraes is, given the pace of the game & the way he always keeps the ball. But this video from a vantage captures how cute those passes around the corner really are. His skillset is unique.”

TIF Thoughts on Guimaraes…
Having cost Newcastle £40m and also forced them to fend off competition from the likes of Arsenal, it will be a huge relief for PIF and Eddie Howe to see their big signing already looking like he will be value for money.
If Newcastle are to push onto the next level this upcoming season, keeping someone of Guimaraes’ quality fit and injury-free will be of huge importance, as from the video posted by Hope, it’s clear to see how smart he is both on and off the ball and will likely be integral to how the Magpies operate moving forward.
