Journalist and YouTuber Conor McGilligan has urged Leeds United not to sign
The defender left the Whites last summer but has recently terminated his contract with Saudi club Al-Ahli after they were relegated from the Saudi Pro League (via LeedsLive).
This news had prompted some, such as journalist , to moot a possible return for the North Macedonia international this summer.
However, McGilligan has stated that the player’s ‘horrendous’ defending is a good enough reason to steer well clear of any possible reunion.
Indeed, when talking on the One Leeds Fan Channel about whether he would take Alioski back, he said: “Absolutely not. Absolutely no chance.
“His one-on-one defending was horrendous. I like him, he was fun, he was good going forward, he got goals.
“But once again, he was so easy [to play against] as a full-back. Because he wasn’t a full-back.
“Alioski wasn’t all that, for me.”

TIF Thoughts on Gjanni Alioski and Leeds…
It is interesting that despite McGilligan believing that Alioski was good going forward, this isn’t enough to see him get behind the idea of a possible transfer. This could come as a surprise to some, especially with Leeds said to be in great need of a new left-back this summer.
Alioski even helped the Whites secure promotion to the Premier League after a 16-year-absence, so many fans may well hold the player in high regard.
Even so, it doesn’t seem as though McGilligan would be happy to see him brought in to provide some cover in the full-back position.
As long as the player remains a free agent, though, Leeds may consider a move. But for now, it doesn’t seem as if any approach is particularly close.
