Conor McGilligan has been left unimpressed by the latest Leeds United transfer report involving Raphinha’s future.

Raphinha appeared destined to depart Elland Road this summer, with a whole host of clubs interested in the winger within the Premier League and from abroad, however, a recent report from ESPN has claimed that he’s now willing to wait until next year for a move away as a move to cash-strapped Barcelona appears unlikely.

This is seemingly down to the fact that Raphinha is desperate for a move to Barcelona despite their worrying financial situation amid interest from the likes of Chelsea and Arsenal, however, waiting would also certainly see his value decrease in the transfer market given he would have one year fewer remaining on his contract.

Will Raphinha leave this summer?

Yes!

Yes!

No!

No!

McGilligan voiced his concern over this possibility on Twitter, claiming: “If this was to happen, I’d actually be a little worried now – would surely mean Gakpo and De Ketelaere wouldn’t happen, you’d expect.

“Also, Leeds would then lose value if he decided to go in the Jan window, which is a notoriously hard window to replace in.”

TIF Thoughts on Raphinha’s future…

It would be a major blow for Leeds whenever they end up losing Raphinha, given how well he’s performed for them over the last few seasons, with 17 goals and 12 assists to his name since moving to the Premier League.

This was a low point in Leeds United's history, but how many points did they get in the 2003/04 campaign?

However, if they know he’s going to leave, it would perhaps be best to see him depart this summer while his market value is at its highest, with Chelsea reportedly willing to pay a £60m fee for the winger, only to see talks go cold on personal terms – likely because the Brazilian’s heart appears set on a move to Catalonia.
