Greg O’Keeffe has been speaking on the All Together Now podcast about what people have told him Everton could be getting from Morgan Gibbs-White.

Everton have only managed to secure the signing of one player this summer in the form of free agent James Tarkowski, who despite being a solid addition with his Premier League experience, didn’t cost a transfer fee, and won’t exactly revolutionise their squad.

The Toffees are seemingly looking to step it up a gear in terms of their summer recruitment, having pocketed £60m from Richarlison’s departure, as they recently had a £25m bid rejected for the Wolves ace.

O’Keeffe claims that people who watched him last season were impressed by what they saw from the Everton target.

Will Everton managed to sign Gibbs-White?

Yes!

Yes!

No!

No!

He said: “A good player, I heard, sort of like word of mouth that he was really good at Sheffield United last season. Haven’t watched a lot of him play for Wolves, if I’m honest with you.

“As we said last week, we had people on the pod who have watched him a bit more than us, and he is an exciting, attacking, quick, hungry talent and he makes things happen. So I can see why we’re after him.”

Which of these Serie A stars did the Toffees miss out on?

Two of Everton’s bigger success stories of last season were English duo Anthony Gordon and Jordan Pickford, who starred and featured prominently in a poor Toffees side, so Frank Lampard may well see homegrown talent as the way to push them forward, hence the interest in Gibbs-White.

However, considering that Wolves have rejected a £25m bid for a player with just 10 Premier League starts under this belt, it seems that Everton could be forced to pay an inflated fee this summer if they wish to land him – something that may not be plausible given their financial restraints.

Why would MGW go to Everton that can’t offer him anymore than we can, remember playing well in the championship is one thing, the premiership is a lot tougher, who knows if everton sign him he might just help to take them down.
