Greg O’Keeffe has admitted on the All Together Now podcast he’s not convinced Morgan Gibbs-White will join Everton.

Recent reports have suggested that Everton are interested in making a move for young English ace Gibbs-White who could be looking for pastures new this summer as he’s currently at a stand-off in contract talks with his current club.

The winger enjoyed a very successful personal campaign last term with Sheffield United managing to register 20 goal involvements and that has seen him linked with a host of Premier League outfits including Everton and Nottingham Forest.

However, O’Keeffe isn’t convinced that Everton will be an attractive move for Gibbs-White.

“A lot of potential, would be an exciting signing. I’ll believe it when I see it. I know Everton are interested, but I think we have to accept that if he’s going to push his way out of Wolves, unfortunately, I’m not sure Everton is the pull we thought.

Should Everton sign Gibbs-White?

“Even with Lampard, by the way, and Thelwell – particularly Lampard is a massive factor and they’ll be telling players, ‘look, Everton have had a bad season last season, there were reasons why, but Frank’s building something really exciting, we’re going places, we’re playing under one of the best young managers in the country’, etc etc.

“Even saying all that, I don’t think we are as much of a pull as we have been, frankly, so we’d do really well to get someone of his calibre in.”

TIF Thoughts on interest in Gibbs-White…

Everton have been linked with a host of players this summer including Keane Lewis-Potter, Gibbs-White, Conor Gallagher and Billy Gilmour, with all of them being young homegrown talents, which signifies a clear shift in the way Everton are wanting to do business.

Gibbs-White and Gallagher would be the ones that likely jump out the most to Evertonians given they’ve performed well at a decent level over the course of an entire campaign recently, however, given their struggles off the pitch and also on it last season, Gibbs-White may feel like a move to Goodison Park isn’t enough of a step up in his career.
