Tottenham Hotspur are likely to have been given an indication by Richarlison’s agent this summer over their client’s availability.
This has been suggested by the Sky Sports reporter and Spurs fans Michael Bridge who has been discussing the Lilywhites’ transfer business with This Is Futbol.
Reports have suggested Spurs are now showing an interest in the possibility of landing the Everton forward this summer amid the Toffees’ financial issues.
And further claims have suggested Everton may be inclined to accept a lower offer than initially expected as a result of their problems with FFP.
Journalist David Ornstein said: “Tottenham won’t come to the level of finance that Everton would be looking for at this point, but there are a number of people around the game who think that with Everton’s financial position, they may, as the window goes on, get squeezed into accepting a lower figure for him – and that’s when Tottenham might feel that they can pounce.”
With the Brazilian forward believed to now be wanting an escape route out of Goodison Park, Bridge believes Spurs will have been given the nudge by the player’s representatives.
He said: “It’s whether Conte wants him or not. And I think, you know, they’ve obviously been given a little nudge from Richarlison’s new advisors.”
When asked if he thinks the Brazilian would be open to a move to N17, Bridge replied: “I think he would.”
TIF Thoughts on Bridge’s comments…
With Richarlison believed to be looking for a route out of Goodison Park, we think Bridge will be correct in thinking his representatives will be looking to find him the best move possible.
Is Richarlison worth £50m?
Yes
No
And the player has already spoken of his desire to play Champions League football in the past which would leave Spurs as a preferred destination for the 25-year-old.
The forward has recently changed his agency to CAA Base, who are believed to have a good relationship with Spurs, so we can imagine this may be one of the reasons why Spurs are one of the clubs linked so heavily with Richarlison.
However, with the Toffees believed to be wanting around €75m (£64m) for their man, it could leave Spurs hoping for a discounted raid later on in the window.
