Sky Sports News presenter and journalist Pete Graves recently stated that he would love to see Brazil and Paris Saint-Germain star Neymar at Newcastle United in the summer transfer window amid their rebuild under the Public Investment Fund.

Ever since Newcastle were taken over by PIF in October, the club have been linked with a number of high-profile stars, including Kylian Mbappe, Renan Lodi, Sven Botman, Lucas Paqueta, and now Neymar.

ESPN Brasil recently revealed Newcastle could be a potential destination for Neymar, and Graves cheekily stated in a recent interview a deal for the Brazilian would show the world just how far the Magpies have come since the failed ownership of Mike Ashley and would love to see it happen – but admits it is unlikely.

He stated: “I would quite like to see someone like Neymar arrive at the club because it would just show how far we’ve gone as a football club. I don’t necessarily think it would be the most sensible signing for so many reasons, but just for pure comedy value, I think it would be quite funny.”

How well do you remember Newcastle's January transfer window? An easy one to start with: where did Newcastle sign Bruno Guimaraes from?

While it is unlikely for Newcastle to sign the star player, it would be an incredible signing that would grab the attention of every big club in world football. The PSG forward has struggled with injuries since he arrived in the French capital, having only made over 20 appearances in the Ligue 1 once in his five seasons.

He did impress this past season, with a combined 19 goals and assists in his 22 league appearances, while he has 100 goals and 60 assists in his entire PSG career. According to WhoScored, he averaged 2.2 shots, 2.5 key passes, 2.6 dribbles and 1.6 long balls, with an 82.7% passing accuracy across Ligue 1 and the Champions League in 2021/22.

There have been rumours that the Parisian team are looking to sell Neymar, but it could be too far of a stretch for a side that needs to make numerous additions to the team.
