Presenter Conor McGilligan has suggested that new Leeds United signing Marc Roca could spell bad news for Adam Forshaw.

Earlier this summer, the Whites managed to sign the Spanish midfielder for a reported initial fee of £10m, after agreeing terms on a four-year contract.

While the arrivals of a Bayern Munich player will have most fans rather excited, one Leeds man may well be left a little concerned by the latest transfer.

Indeed, while speaking on the One Leeds Fan Channel, McGilligan claimed that Roca’s arrival will leave no place in the midfield for Forshaw next season.

He explained (2:07) : “Looking at the players that are going to be going out and the players that are going to be coming in. The players as well that are probably now going to be on the bench…”

He added shortly (2:29): “Then obviously Roca, and there’s probably going to be no real place in the midfield for Adam Forshaw.”

TIF thoughts on Marc Roca, Adam Forshaw and Leeds…
Having signed for decent money, after making 24 appearances with Bayern Munich in Germany, Roca arrives with a certain pedigree and will likely be expected to impress in England next term.
Last season, Forshaw started 17 league games, but could see his minutes diminish further due to this new arrival. However, with other midfielder Kalvin Phillips set for a £42m switch to Premier League rivals Manchester City, Forshaw may yet find some time to feature next term.
Saying that, Leeds could to use that money to bring in another midfielder – such as the linked Mohamed Camara – which would only damage Forshaw’s shot at more game time.
