Everton midfielder Dele Alli has taken to Instagram to send Frank Lampard a message that he is working hard during the off-season.
Dele joined Everton from fellow Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur in January, but he has not had the expected impact since he signed at Goodison Park.
He made just 11 appearances for the Toffees, with just one of those from the starting XI and he failed to register a single goal or assist.
And reports have also suggested Dele could already face an early exit from Goodison Park this summer after his disappointing start to life on Merseyside.
Everton struggled last season, they only managed to steer clear of relegation to the Championship by four points, but Frank Lampard in the end pulled off some impressive results, against the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United to ensure their top-flight status for next season.
There has reportedly been no fee paid yet from Everton, due to the money being paid based on performance-related results, so Everton have a decision whether they want to offload him before he reaches these goals, and a fee is to be paid to his former club Spurs.
Dele has taken to Instagram to send Lampard a potential message ahead of pre-season, that he working hard, and determined to be fighting fit for when he meets back up with the Everton squad, and be more involved in the action next season.
TIF Thoughts on Dele…
Dele burst onto the scene for Tottenham Hotspur, after he scored 10 goals in 33 games in the 2015/16 season, and then he netted a further 18 goals in the following league season, but since then things have seemingly gone downhill and he has struggled to find any sort of form.
Should Alli be given another chance at Everton?
With Dele’s previous impressive stats in the Premier League, Lampard might be thinking that he can get the best out of him in the upcoming season after a good pre-season where he can get fully back to match fitness, and then help Everton improve on their disappointing 2021/22 campaign.
