Tottenham Hotspur star Ryan Sessegnon may have dropped a hint on Instagram over Antonio Conte’s team selection for the weekend.

Spurs travel across London to play Brentford on Saturday evening with the left wing-back having just made his return from a hamstring injury.

Who would you start vs Brentford?

And ahead of the game, the 21-year-old posted an image to his Instagram account on Thursday afternoon showing him in training at Hotspur Way.

The defender captioned the post with a ‘muscle’ and ‘sun’ emoji as he aims to make his return to the starting XI on the weekend against the Bees.

Sessegnon had earned the starting spot in Antonio Conte’s XI before picking up the injury against Everton which forced him to watch from the sideline for just under one month.

The 21-year-old had racked up five consecutive starts under the Italian in the Premier League before picking up the injury, however, has not come off the bench in the two games since returning (via Transfermarkt).

In his place, Sergio Reguilon has featured, and it is apparent the Spaniard has not impressed with Alasdair Gold awarding the 25-year-old with a 4/10 rating for the defeat against Brighton & Hove Albion.

And in his latest YouTube video, the Spurs correspondent has claimed he wouldn’t be surprised to see Sessegnon selected on Saturday if he is fit enough to play:

“So if – and it’s an if, because obviously, they’ve got to get him to the right place physically and also mentally in his confidence in his hamstring – if they can get him to that place for next Saturday, I wouldn’t be stunned if Sessegnon starts,” said Gold.

With this in mind, was Sessegnon posting the image on Instagram as a sign to Conte he is ready to go on the weekend in a game Spurs will feel is a must-win for their top four hopes?

Sessegnon certainly seems to be in good spirits ahead of the game, so we would not be surprised to discover this is an indication that he will get the nod on Saturday evening.
