Fabian Delph has sent a very simple message to a trio of Everton players after the Toffees’ late equaliser.

Delph, who was once potentially seen as an outcast at Everton and destined for the exit door this summer after his online spat with a fan, has now started two games in a row under Frank Lampard with the Toffees picking up four points and conceding just the single goal in those matches.

On Wednesday evening, Everton managed to somehow salvage a very late point against Leicester City when Richarlison netted deep into second-half stoppage time – the second goal the Foxes have shipped in added time across the last two games.

Delph is not the only player to have struggled a lot this season at Everton with both Salomon Rondon and January recruit Dele Alli also having their problems and lack of minutes, however, the former provided the assist with a slight touch on the ball for Richarlison and the two of them were the only ones in the entire Everton squad to register a goal-creating action in midweek.

This led to Delph taking to Instagram to post some very simple words while tagging Richarlison, Rondon and Alli in the post, he said: ‘Stay positive. Stay fighting. Stay brave. Stay ambitious. Stay focused. Stay strong.’

TIF Thoughts on Delph’s post…

It shows that there is clearly a strong team bond and feeling within the dressing room that Delph has picked out at least two players who have clearly struggled during their time at Goodison Park and that should bode well for their fight against the drop.

If Lampard can get players like Rondon, who can provide a focal point, and Dele Alli, who has proved in the past he can cut it in the Premier League, back to their best, that would surely go a long way to helping them avoid the drop, it’s just a case of whether these sorts of players are up for the fight.
