Leeds United manager Jesse Marsch has already held a transfer meeting with Victor Orta ahead of the summer window.

This has been reported by Leeds Live journalist Beren Cross, who believes the pair have discussed their plans for the summer transfer window.

Marsch’s men now find themselves six points clear of the Premier League relegation zone with seven games remaining of their 2021/22 campaign.

And it seems some of the board’s attention has already turned to planning for next season, with the Whites assessing their options ahead of the window opening on 10th June.

In particular, the potential addition of Brenden Aaronson was discussed by Marsch recently following heavy links to the RB Salzburg ace over the January market:

“Transfers are on the agenda at Leeds United this week as Jesse Marsch and Victor Orta meet to discuss targets ahead of the summer window,” Cross wrote for Leeds Live.

“The head coach and director of football had a sit-down scheduled between the Southampton and Watford games to talk more about how the recruitment shortlists are looking.

“However, it is wise for the two men at the forefront of the club’s footballing operation to establish who they like, what they need and what Marsch is making of his squad after more than a month in the job.

“Marsch lifted the lid on the approach he likes to take with recruitment last week, even citing the example of the much-talked-about Brenden Aaronson, who was signed for Red Bull Salzburg while he was in charge.”

TIF Thoughts on Cross’ comments…

This may come as an exciting update to some Leeds fans, with the clear plans looking ahead to the club’s transfer window and Marsch providing his assessment of his current options.

However, there will certainly be some aspect of not getting ahead of themselves just yet with seven games still to go and the Whites not mathematically safe.

And it may be promising to hear Aaronson’s name mentioned by Marsch, with Leeds expected to make another move for the American in the summer following their failed attempts in January.
