Leeds United’s Ian Poveda headed out to Blackburn Rovers on loan at the start of the season, but things haven’t gone to plan.
He hasn’t featured since suffering an injury in November, but he is on the road back to full fitness. The winger has recently dropped a positive update on his Instagram page, showing him working in the gym and teasing he was ‘real close’ to a return.

Although it appears his rehab has been done with Leeds, he is still on loan with Blackburn, so could still help Rovers in their push to finish in the play-offs this season.
It was a slow start for Poveda at Ewood Park, making eight Championship appearances before his injury. He only managed the one goal and two assists in that time, so he still has plenty to offer.

If Poveda can get further minutes under his belt this season and have a strong finish with the Lancashire club, it could set him up nicely for his return to Elland Road.
He will have the chance to impress Jesse Marsch before joining back up with his parent club in the summer as he will be hoping he can do enough to force his way into the American’s plans.
