Tottenham Hotspur have released footage from Hotspur Way on Friday of Sergio Reguilon running back into training ahead of their game on the weekend.

Spurs travel to Villa Park on Saturday where three massive points are on offer in their quest to secure a spot in next season’s Champions League having climbed into the top four on Sunday.

Who would you start against Villa?

Reguilon was sidelined for the outing on the weekend against Newcastle United after sustaining a knock during the week in training.

Having missed the emphatic 5-1 victory against the Magpies, Conte confirmed in his Thursday press conference Reguilon and Ryan Sessegnon had made a return to training:

“No new injuries, two good news because Ryan Sessegnon and Sergio Reguilon they had the training session with us,” said the Italian.

It is believed the Spaniard underwent a late fitness test prior to the game against Eddie Howe’s side, however, was not deemed fit enough to play any part.

The 25-year-old had returned to the starting XI last month after Sessegnon was forced to watch from the stands after picking up another hamstring injury.

And Reguilon has shown some improved form under Antonio Conte having found the back of the net on two occasions and provided an assist (via Transfermarkt).

TIF Thoughts on the footage to emerge…

This will surely come as hugely welcomed news for Conte who has used the Spaniard frequently since arriving despite opting for Sessegnon across January and February.

Conte was forced to start Matt Doherty on the left last weekend against Newcastle United, and although it worked, we think having a natural left-sided defender available will be a huge boost for the Italian.

Doherty did find the back of the net against the Magpies, however, with a tougher test expected against Aston Villa, we’d imagine Conte will be delighted to be able to return Doherty back to right wing-back over Emerson Royal.
