Leeds United took the bold decision to sack Marcelo Bielsa midway through the current Premier League season, opting to hire American Jesse Marsch as a replacement.

Bielsa will go down as a Leeds United icon after guiding them back to the Premier League after a long stint away from the top flight of English football. However, as the threat of relegation loomed over the Yorkshire club, sentiment was put on hold and changes were made.

Could Leeds still be relegated?

Yes!

Yes!

No!

No!

Since his arrival, Leeds have won three and drawn one from his opening six games in the Elland Road dugout, clearly making an instant impact with the Whites.

Football insider Dean Jones has been talking to GIVEMESPORT about the American’s impact on the club:

“The impact he’s made on the club has been really significant already and everybody loves him. We’ll have to see how it pans out, but Leeds is quite a positive environment and they’re positive they can fix whatever comes along.”

TIF Thoughts on Jones’ comments…

We absolutely agree with Jones and his assessment of Marsch’s impact, especially given the rut Leeds were stuck in under Bielsa before the Argentine was relieved of his duties.

His instant impact has been vital for Leeds edging closer to retaining their Premier League status, backing up the decision made by the board to bring him in in the first place.

Which comedian supports the Whites?

The Whites now sit nine points clear of the drop zone, knowing that they are now just a matter of wins away from survival. However, with the form of those below them, they might not need any more points, although Leeds fans will be hoping it’s much more straightforward than that!
