Jordan Cronin has revealed the spikey response he got from Eddie Howe during the manager’s post-match press conference after Newcastle United’s 3-0 win.

Newcastle United managed to move themselves up into ninth in the Premier League after winning their fourth match in a row and moved well clear of any relegation fears and have provided hope and an insight into what the future could look like under PIF.

Should Howe win manager of the Year?

Yes!

Yes!

No!

No!

The Magpies, while they did spend over £90 million in January which has gone a long way to helping their fight against the drop and thus move up the table incredibly into the top half, will be delighted to see the work Howe has done which can’t be underappreciated.

While Newcastle are now comfortably in mid-table and more than 10 points clear of the drop zone, Howe won’t entertain any such talk of the Magpies being safe as when asked by Jordan Cronin he gave a frosty response saying ‘are we mathematically safe? Then no!’

TIF Thoughts on Newcastle’s Premier League status…

While it makes sense for Howe to be sensible and professional when it comes to Newcastle’s Premier League status by claiming until it’s mathematically impossible to go down, even the manager himself will surely be saying in private that they are going to be playing in the top flight come August.

It’s the sign of a good manager to not get too high when things are going well and not too low when things aren’t going your way which is what Howe has and is currently doing as he never appeared to be bothered when the Magpies were rooted into the bottom three, winless after 14 games, so the club appears to be in safe hands.
