Liam Kennedy has been speaking on the Black & White podcast about potential sponsorship deals arriving at Newcastle United.

The Magpies, while they are now one of the wealthiest clubs about, do still have to stick within Fair Play regulations, something PIF have wanted to hammer home via the media in recent times, hence The Telegraph have reported that Howe will be handed a smaller transfer budget than he was in January.

Are PIF good owners for Newcastle?

Yes!

Yes!

No!

No!

PIF can’t simply just pump a load of money into the club themselves, this is why sponsorship deals for kits, training gear, stadium and training ground are all very important for a club to be able to maximise how much they can spend and PIF are yet to bring in anything new in this way since purchasing the club.

However, Kennedy believes these will all arrive in due course.

“There are still some question marks, there’s still no director of football, there’s still no chief executive, there still hasn’t been that injection of new money coming through from the likes of sponsorship, stadium, etc, that many may have expected so far in the opening six months.

“That will come. I’m led to believe that will come, it’s an ongoing process.”

TIF Thoughts on PIF’s plans off the pitch…

How well do you remember Newcastle's January transfer window? An easy one to start with: where did Newcastle sign Bruno Guimaraes from?

While everything appears to be going extremely well on the pitch for Newcastle United, the fact that they still haven’t been able to come to an agreement with Brighton in terms of releasing Dan Ashworth early from his gardening leave, will surely raise questions if it runs on into the summer.

PIF will be well aware that bringing in a sufficient sponsorship deal will be key to their recruitment and plans for Newcastle United as they just have to look at a club like Manchester City, who have also become a superpower within football most recently, as their Etihad sponsorship is reportedly worth £45 million.
