Tottenham Hotspur journalist Alasdair Gold has been responding to Antonio Conte’s latest comments ahead of their game on Wednesday night.

And it is apparent the Italian has not exactly convinced the Spurs correspondent he will be at the helm in N17 come to the start of the 2022/23 campaign.

Do you think Conte will walk in the summer?

Yes

Yes

No

No

Spurs face Brighton & Hove Albion on Wednesday night on the south coast and Conte was speaking to the media ahead of the game where he was speaking about the club needing to act ambitiously in the summer:

“Then, at the end of the season, then everyone has to speak about their own vision and I speak about my vision, and I think also the club will speak about their vision, and Paratici will speak about his vision, and then we will see,” said Conte.

And this comes amid Tottenham’s poor form since the turn of the year which has virtually seen the north Londoners follow every win with a defeat and Gold had his say on the Italian’s comments:

“Antonio Conte has strongly suggested that he will leave Tottenham if the club’s vision does not match his own when he holds talks this summer,” Gold wrote for football.london.

“The Italian is set to hold discussions with chairman Daniel Levy and managing director of football Fabio Paratici at the end of the season to discuss the summer transfer window and the club’s ambitions for next season.”

TIF Thoughts on Gold’s comments…

The Spurs boss has certainly made his stance clear ahead of the summer window with his future seemingly dependent on how the club operates in the market.

However, we do not feel there is much point in speculating, at the minute. Conte has laid his stall out and it will be over to Daniel Levy and Fabio Paratici to ‘work their magic’ in the summer.

If the people responsible do not back the manager in the way he has in mind, then they will only have themselves to blame if he is to leave given he has made his stance abundantly clear.
