Journalist Ryan McGinlay has expressed his excitement over a development coming out of a Celtic training session on Thursday.

Footage to emerge from Lennoxtown would suggest Kyogo Furuhashi has returned to training following a lengthy injury issue that has seen him sidelined since December.

Will Kyogo be back for the derby?

The Japanese forward still remains Ange Postecoglou’s top scorer this season despite having only made 14 appearances in the Scottish Premiership.

And the Bhoys have a huge clash against their city and title rivals coming up after the international break with just three points between the two Glasgow sides at the top of the table.

Celtic have faired well without Kyogo in their side, however, with the huge derby clash approaching in the early stages of next month, McGinlay expressed his excitement on Twitter: “Seeing Kyogo on the grass has made my day/month/year”.

TIF Thoughts on Kyogo’s return…

We are not surprised McGinlay has been left so excited by Kyogo’s return to training given the huge influence he has had on the Parkhead side since arriving in the summer.

In signing the Japanese forward, it was a huge risk in taking a player who was not proven in Europe, but it has certainly paid off with his injury issue the only negative.

And with a big run-in and their bid for the title in their own hands, having the forward back could prove a huge boost for Postecoglou as they look to take the Scottish crown back off their rivals.
