John McGinley has backed Celtic youngster Bosun Lawal to make it at the club and reach the first team as footage of an interview has emerged.

It has been a tough time for Celtic and their fans in recent times having seen some of the promising young players depart for other clubs with the likes of Jeremie Frimpong, Leo Hjelde and Ben Doak potentially leaving.

Will Celtic win the league?

Yes!

Yes!

No!

No!

The former is the most successful of the trio thus far having already racked up 47 appearances for Bundesliga outfit Bayer Leverkusen and many will be hoping that Bosun Lawal doesn’t follow the same fate of leaving early on.

Lawal, who has been out injured for three months is gearing up to face Rangers B this week in what will be his third game back and McGinley has high hopes for the centre back at Celtic, claiming that ‘this lad has a chance to make it, no doubt. Excited to see where it goes after his injury.’

This English Premier League winner almost moved to Celtic.

TIF Thoughts on Lawal’s chances of making it at Celtic…

Tom Boyd has previously compared Lawal to the former Celtic centre back, who is now regarded as one of the best in the world, Virgil van Dijk, so if he can get to even half of the Liverpool man’s level then Celtic will have one big talent on their hands in Lawal.

Celtic and their fans will be praying that they don’t end up losing someone such as Lawal who clearly has a lot of potential as he can hopefully progress through the ranks and learn from two international centre backs currently at the club in the form of Cameron Carter-Vickers and Carl Starfelt who both represent their respected national sides.
