The journalist known as @CraigCelt has expressed his joy over the ‘great news’ that Celtic defender Josip Juranovic is set to be rested for Croatia’s next game.

The right-back played the full 90 minutes in a friendly match for his nation over the weekend as they drew 1-1 with Slovenia. However, with an Old Firm derby on the horizon, fans may have been concerned about the player’s fitness.

Indeed, before that Celtic game, which will take place on Sunday, Croatia have another game to play – this time they will be up against Bulgaria.

Fortunately for the Bhoys, reports suggest Juranovic may well be rested for the upcoming international friendly. With that in mind, the journalist took to Twitter to express his delight.

He said: “Josip Juranovic set to be rested for Croatia’s game against Bulgaria on Tuesday. Great news ahead of the Glasgow Derby.”

Up to this point in the season, Juranovic has been a key figure for manager Ange Postecoglou. Indeed, the defender has played 24 times in the league and has even chipped in with a couple of goals.

He played in the last league clash between Celtic and Rangers, and will likely be looking to pick up where they left off following the 3-0 victory back in February.
