Liverpool recorded a routine 2-0 victory on Saturday afternoon, brushing aside Brighton thanks to goals from Luis Diaz and Mo Salah.

The new man up top for the Reds was brave to open the scoring before Salah’s penalty settled the clash for Jurgen Klopp’s men.

The result could be overshadowed though, with the ‘Egyptian King’ being forced off with an injury just four minutes after his goal.

Jurgen Klopp Worry?

Liverpool are still fighting on all fronts, looking to secure that historic quadruple that’s so hard to win. They’ve got the Carabao Cup in the bag, two quarter finals and a tight title race with Manchester City. Win their game in hand and they’re only three points off the top, but that game comes on Wednesday against Arsenal. Will Salah be available for it?

While Liverpool now have plenty of options in attack, you don’t want to miss a key player for a huge game. While Klopp has more than capable options to call upon, losing someone who is dubbed ‘the best in the world’ is always a disaster.

Thankfully, Klopp did confirm after the game that Salah himself doesn’t think it’s serious, so we are yet to know how long he will be out for if any. In his entire career, since his Basel days in 2012, Salah has missed just 15 games – reliable.

Roberto Firmino Lifeline?

Roberto Firmino has seen his Liverpool playing time slowly decrease over the last few years, from being one of the first names on the team-sheet to not being a guaranteed starter when fit.

The signings of Diogo Jota and Luis Diaz appear to have pushed the Brazilian down in the pecking order, although he has suffered from multiple injury problems this season.

He has played in 15/28 Premier League games Liverpool have played this season. However, he has three goals in four Champions League appearances this campaign, missing the other four through injury, so he is still trusted by the manager.

‘Bobby’ is undoubtedly a fan favourite with his ‘Si Senor’ chant regularly blasted out by the Anfield faithful, so if Salah is out, the fans would surely love to see the Brazilian back in the starting side.
