Leeds United midfielder Adam Forshaw has let new manager Jesse Marsch know he is ready to play in the club’s next game.

When the American manager came in, he initially kept the 30-year-old on the bench. Indeed, for Marsch’s first game in charge – a 1-0 away loss against Leicester City – Forshaw was limited to just a 20-minute cameo as a substitute.

While he has started the next two Premier League games, with midfielder Kalvin Phillips nearing an injury return, the Englishman may be fearing for his game time for the rest of the season.

Perhaps with that in mind, Forshaw recently shared some images of himself on Instagram working hard in training, accompanied by the message: “Prepared for another massive game tomorrow.”

TIF thoughts on Adam Forshaw and Leeds…

The Whites face Bruno Lage’s Wolves side at Molineux on Friday evening and will indeed have midfielder Phillips available to pick from. Manager Marsch revealed as much ahead of the game, explaining that the Englishman is back in full training and is ‘eligible’ for the game.

Last season, Phillips was a key part of the Leeds team, playing in 29 Premier League games, but this season he has only managed 12 outings due to fitness struggles.

In his place, Forshaw has featured in 20 league games, but the club have failed to impress and find themselves in a relegation battle as a consequence.

Once fully fit, it seems more than likely that Phillips will be put back into the team. This, of course, could spell bad news for Forshaw, which may explain why he’s so keen to show his new manager how ‘prepared’ he is in this latest social media post.
