Pablo Hernandez has sent a message to Leeds United and their fans after Joe Gelhard’s late winner.

Leeds United and Jesse Marsch picked up their first win of his tenure and what could be the biggest moment of their season as they managed to bounce back from conceding an added-time equaliser, only to go up the other end and score a late winner.

Should Gelhardt start for Leeds?

Yes!

Yes!

No!

No!

It would appear to have been a stroke of genius from Marsch who, when Leeds had just conceded decided to throw on another striker to try and desperately get a much-needed win and Gelhardt did just that with a dramatic winner to send the Leeds faithful into delirium.

That feeling was not exclusively for those inside the stadium as one of the Leeds greats from recent years, Pablo Hernandez, posted Gelhardt’s goal on his Instagram with the caption ‘come on!!!’

This was a low point in Leeds United's history, but how many points did they get in the 2003/04 campaign?

TIF Thoughts on Leeds’ dramatic winner…

Hernandez spent a number of years at Elland Road and was influential during their promotion out of the Championship and when he left the Whites last summer he’d racked up 175 appearances for the club, so it’s no surprise that he was buzzing to see his former side pick up a potentially season-defining three points.

Gelhardt, who is still just 19-years old, has been handed regular minutes this season under both Marsch and Marcelo Bielsa, however, he’s only been afforded two league starts but after this latest moment in his short Leeds career, it will be difficult for March to keep him shackled to the bench.
