Everton forward Salomon Rondon has posted an uplifting message on his Instagram account following their victory in the FA Cup.

It certainly was a nervy game for the Toffees on Thursday night against Boreham Wood, as they huffed and puffed to try and break down their opponents’ door, before eventually coming out on the right side of a 2-0 scoreline to see them through to the quarter-finals of the competition.

Both goals on the night came from the Venezuelan forward, one just before the hour mark and another in the 84th minute to seal the game off. It was refreshing to see the 32-year-old on the scoresheet for once, as he hadn’t scored a goal this season since their game against Crystal Palace back in December.

Which manager used to play for Everton's academy?

But he has used the game and the result as an opportunity to send a message to his teammates ahead of the business end of the season.

Taking to Instagram whilst posing with his award for winning Player of the Match, he expressed his excitement at the victory over the National League side alongside the message, “let’s now go for more!”:

Will Lampard keep Everton up?

Yes!

More is exactly what Everton are going to need in the coming weeks and months, whether it be for their FA Cup campaign – which sees them travel down to Selhurst Park to take on Crystal Palace in the quarter-final – or in the Premier League, where they are deep in a relegation battle.

Whether or not Rondon will be the man to help provide it, we’ll just have to wait and see, but hopefully there are some within the Everton side that have taken the message on board, as they look to string enough results together between now and the end of the campaign.
