Celtic midfielder Nir Bitton has led the praise for Liel Abada after he scored in the club’s most recent Scottish Premiership match.

Over the weekend, the Bhoys claimed a comprehensive 4-0 away win over Motherwell. The result means Ange Postecoglou’s men remain one point clear at the top of the table.

Abada opened the scoring for his side in the 28th minute, sweeping home a fine finish following a low Reo Hatate cross. The Israeli then claimed two assists for Tom Rogic, who put Celtic 3-0 up before half time. Daizen Maeda later added the cherry on top with a fourth in the second half.

After the match, Abada took to Instagram to celebrate the win, posting a picture of himself celebrating his goal. His club teammate and compatriot Bitton was quick to compliment the 20-year-old for his dazzling display with the comment: “Superstar.”

The forward’s performances of late are certainly worthy of strong praise. Indeed, in his last three league outings, Abada has registered three goals and three assists – including a goal and assist against Rangers in the Old Firm (via Transfermarkt).

That form has played a key part in Postecoglou and co overtaking their rivals at the top of the table, with one point separating the two with 25 games played.

Abada has now directly contributed to 25 goals in 38 appearances across all competitions for Celtic – scoring 14 times and assisting on 11 occasions.

Still only 20 years of age, the talent is clear for all to see. Teammate Bitton certainly feels that way, too.
