Out-of-favour Newcastle United ace Miguel Almiron has taken to his Instagram account to provide Eddie Howe with some encouragement.

The arrival of Howe on Tyneside has had a big impact on the 28-year-old’s game time for Newcastle, with the Paraguayan earning just 293 minutes of Premier League action since November (via Transfermarkt).

Should Almiron be sold in the summer?

And recently, Almiron has been reduced to just 11 minutes of league action over the course of the last four games in the top flight.

However, he has taken to Instagram on Monday to share an image on his story of him in the gym with the caption: “No day off.”

The post comes just days after the Toon were able to earn themselves a big point on the road against West Ham United, with the Hammers battling for a spot in the top four.

Despite Howe’s side being hindered by the injury of Allan Saint-Maximin before the game, Almiron was unable to work his way into the starting XI and was only able to make a late cameo off the bench.

Although his game time has taken a blow recently, it is apparent the Paraguayan is looking to send a message out to show he is putting in the work behind the scenes to get back into the manager’s plans.

TIF Thoughts on Almiron’s future…

A big summer transfer window is expected on Tyneside if they are able to maintain their Premier League status and we do wonder what that could bring for Almiron.

The 28-year-old has failed to light up the Premier League since arriving on Tyneside, with just eight goals to his name in the English top flight.

Now three years into life in England, we do wonder whether Howe’s reluctance to involve him in his side is a sign of things to come for the midfielder ahead of the summer.
