Football journalist Dean Jones has claimed Newcastle United will have some special names being linked with them over the summer transfer window.
Speaking on the latest edition of Touchline Talk, Jones was providing his latest understanding on the Toon’s plans regarding their summer spending.

It was a busy January window for the Magpies as they saw five new faces come through the door over the course of the month, with the standout name being the £37.89m Bruno Guimaraes.
However, in their efforts to remain a Premier League side, the Toon raided Brighton & Hove Albion, Aston Villa and Burnley of some of their established starters.
But if Eddie Howe’s men are to keep their Premier League status come the end of the season, Jones expects some huge names to be linked with the Tyneside club.
He said: “I think pretty much we’ve seen the B list of targets all in January. Now let’s see what the A list has got, because from what I’m told, it’s going to be pretty special, some of the names that we’re going to be linking Newcastle with in the summer if they stay up.”

There is an awful lot relying on Newcastle avoiding the drop this season, with relegation to the Championship potentially putting back the project on Tyneside by a couple of years.
The funds available at St. James’ Park were already flexed in the January window as the Toon ended the market as Europe’s biggest spenders, with just over £91m spent.
And that was all done with the club’s near future seriously under doubt as they went into the month of January with just one Premier League win to their name.
So if they are able to avoid the drop, we will be incredibly interested to see what calibre of player the Toon will be linked to signing in the summer months, with the new owners’ sky-high ambitions.
