Sunderland loan player Jack Diamond has impressed once again after scoring in his latest outing for Harrogate Town.

Earlier this season, the 22-year-old was loaned out to the League Two club before being recalled to the Black Cats in January. However, after making a couple of appearances for his parent club, he was then allowed to return to Harrogate for the second half of the season (as per the Harrogate Advertiser).

Now back in the team, he helped his side claim a point away from home in their last league fixture. Indeed, the attacker scored his side’s third goal of the game as they had to settle for a 3-3 draw against Rochdale.

His effort was described by the club’s official website as such: “Just like the first half, Town started the second half with an early goal, Diamond generating space for himself with a stepover before firing low and hard past Coleman on his left foot.”

It seems as though his performance was noted by plenty, as he was named in the League Two Team of the Week.

This is not the first time Diamond has impressed for his loan club this season, either. Indeed, the Sunderland man has now scored eight times and registered four assists in 22 league appearances for Harrogate – split across his two loan spells with them this term.

Taking all that into account, it will be interesting to see if he is given a chance to shine for the Black Cats when he returns next season, though perhaps his loan side will be keen to sign him on a permanent deal in the summer.
