Presenter ExWHUemployee has claimed that West Ham United defender Kurt Zouma should be available to play in the club’s next match.

In recent times, the French centre-back has made headlines for all the wrong reasons. Indeed, the awful incident relating to his cat has drawn much criticism upon Zouma within the football community and beyond.

While the 27-year-old has not been dropped by West Ham despite his troubling behaviour, he did have to pull out of the recent 2-2 draw away at Leicester City due to illness.

With many now wondering the status of the defender, Ex has suggested that Zouma will likely be fit for the Hammers’ next outing.

Should Kurt Zouma play for West Ham again?

No

Talking on The West Ham Way podcast, he said: “Zouma, we’ve already talked about, but according to the club, it’s a sickness bug so he should be available for the Newcastle game, I’m assuming.

“Because it doesn’t usually take six days to recover from a sickness bug. Depends how bad it is, I guess, but he should be available for selection.”

TIF Thoughts on Kurt Zouma and West Ham United…

As mentioned by Ex, the club’s next game will be against Newcastle United. The Magpies have won three games on the bounce, and so will likely be tough opposition for David Moyes and co.

With that in mind, West Ham will certainly hope Zouma is fit for the game. The fact that he has been picked despite the ongoing controversy that surrounds him certainly proves just how highly rated he is by his manager.

With a potential Champions League place up for grabs this season, the Hammers seem to be set on doing whatever they can to finish inside the top four come the end of the campaign – so if Zouma is fit, it may not be a surprise if he was to play against Newcastle.
