ExWHUemployee has revealed that defender Duje Caleta-Car has been ‘on the radar’ as a West Ham United transfer target for some time now.

In recent weeks, the Marseille player has been linked with a possible move to the Premier League outfit. With the transfer market coming to an end soon, it seems as though he could well be a player the Hammers look to bring in this winter.

Indeed, while speaking on The West Ham Way podcast, Ex confirmed that the centre-back is someone the club ‘100%’ like, and outlined why David Moyes could make a move for him.

He said: “They’ve [Marseille] got Caleta-Car, someone that [is] continuously linked with this club. We do like him 100%, he’s been a player on the radar for ages.

“Marseille are struggling financially. He is left-footed, I think. Also, I’ve been told that David Moyes doesn’t like to sign centre-backs that aren’t more than six-foot-two, apparently.”

TIF Thoughts on Duje Caleta-Car and West Ham…

Caleta-Car has proved to be a solid option in the Marseille squad over the course of this season. Indeed, he has played in 15 games across all competitions, playing as a central defender for the French club.

For those West Ham supporters who rate the 25-year-old, they will be delighted to hear that their club’s interest is very real and that he could be available for a relatively low fee if Les Olympiens really are ‘struggling financially’.

With less than a week to go in the transfer market, it will be interesting to see whether or not West Ham decide to make a move for the player, who apparently seems to tick all the boxes for a Moyes signing.
