Liverpool have been urged by German journalist Guido Schafer to make a move for RB Leipzig’s Christopher Nkunku, with the reporter claiming he’d be a perfect fit.

Schafer, an ex-teammate of Jurgen Klopp, sees the Frenchman as a perfect player for the German boss.

Should Gerrard succeed Klopp as Liverpool's next manager?

No!

Reports in Spain recently claimed that he has been identified as a target for Liverpool, so Schafer could get his wish of seeing Klopp go for the Frenchman.

Schafer joined in on the Blood Red podcast recently to convey his admiration for Nkunku, suggesting why he would be a perfect fit at Anfield. He said: “I think he’s a perfect player for Jurgen Klopp. I’m sure he’s also on the list of many big clubs and for sure, also Liverpool and I think Manchester United think about him.

“I love him. I love Christopher Nkunku, not only because of his skills – he’s fast, he’s technical, perfect and he has a good brain – but also his character, and since he’s a young father, I think his life is complete. He can bring [a] very good performance on the field.

“I think if Liverpool have the choice to get him, they have to do it, for sure.”

TIF Thoughts on Nkunku to Liverpool…

While it doesn’t look like there are any concrete links as of yet and just a few rumours floating around, there’s plenty to be excited about if you’re a Liverpool fan.

Do you know how many points Liverpool gain in these seasons? Let's start of with 2020/21

Judging by his statistics, Nkunku could add plenty of quality to the Reds – the attacking midfielder has already contributed 17 goals and 13 assists in his 29 games this season, working out at just over a goal a game.

With numbers like that, you’d expect plenty of clubs to be in for him should the potential to sign him arise, so Liverpool could have serious competition.
