Plenty of Celtic fans have reacted positively online after hearing their club is close to agreeing a deal for Japanese footballer Reo Hatate.

Indeed, as reported by Sky Sports, the Bhoys are hoping to do all their January transfer business early in the winter window, and the 24-year-old, who is currently at Kawasaki Frontale, may well be the first man to come in.

The article goes on to explain that for the utility player – who can play left-back, on the left wing and in midfield – personal terms will likely not be an issue and so the move should be concluded shortly.

Here’s what these Celtic fans said…

“So it begins, good to see us moving early. HH.”

“Boom, getting the new boys in on time for the game against the orcs. Lovely.”

“He’s gonna suit the green and white so much.”

In recent seasons, Hatate has won a number of trophies with J1 League club Kawasaki Frontale – this includes a league title in each of the past two seasons.

If he can bring that experience of success with him to Scotland, he may well be a great fit for the club. Meanwhile, since his contract runs out in January, any transfer fees will be minimal, making him a relatively risk-free move.

Taking all this into account, it’s easy to see why the Celtic fans are so happy to see him close to a potential transfer.
