Celtic fans have been reacting to the performance of Ismaila Soro during their Europa League game against Real Betis.

The result of the game didn’t really mean a lot for Ange Postecoglou’s men, as defeat in their last game against Bayer Leverkusen meant that their European fate was already sealed and that they would be playing in the Europa Conference League in the new year.

That was reflected in the starting XI, which featured 11 changes from their game at the weekend against Dundee United, giving some new faces a chance to impress for the games moving forward.

One player who didn’t impress, at least according to the fans online, was the 23-year-old Ivorian midfielder, as they tore into his display on social media, with some of them seemingly concerned about his disciplinary record before seeing him dragged off just past the hour mark:

“Young team doing well, but Soro a liability. Looks a stick on red every game he plays. Big Scales looks half decent.”

“Soro is a worry for me, a cert for a red card imo.”
“Soro is shocking…”
“I love wee Soro, but he’s never a player”
“Soro is a walking red card…subbed at half time please.”
“Soro’s passing ability is some of the worst I’ve seen”
“Hook Soro at the break. Or else we’ll end up with 10. He can’t be trusted”
“Soro has zero game awareness, he’s a complete liability”

Soro’s record hasn’t actually been that bad, as he had only received six yellow cards for Celtic leading into the game, and although he did get booked inside the first half-hour, it goes to show how little faith in him that the fans have if they’re that on-edge whenever he’s on the pitch.
