Geo has been speaking on the Hammers Chat YouTube channel about the concerns he has heading into January.

David Moyes has been speaking to the press ahead of the January transfer window, where he appeared to be trying to manage expectation levels and not get Hammers fans too excited about potential new arrivals as he said, ‘Do we want to act? Yes, we do. Are we ready to act? Probably not.’

Can West Ham win the Europa League?

Yes!

Yes!

No!

No!

The Hammers are still without three influential defenders in the form of Kurt Zouma, Aaron Cresswell and Angelo Ogbonna, but they also only have one recognised striker in Michail Antonio, who has scored once in his previous eight league matches, so it would be sensible to assume that new additions would be forthcoming.

Geo is not so confident about seeing new faces arrive in January.

He said: “I think we’ll get one or two players in, I think at least one player will be good and go into the starting eleven on paper, but I’ve just not got the confidence, I’m a little bit concerned by stuff he said – that perhaps we’ll wait till the summer for Player X or Player Y, and that means in January, we’re gonna miss out.”

TIF Thoughts on West Ham’s potential business…

From those comments made by Moyes, it would appear that he is wanting to sign players in January, but either can’t agree on who should be signed by the club or he doesn’t feel there is enough money at his disposal to sign someone that will improve the current squad.

If defensive recruits are going to be signed, given the number of injuries, then they could either look for someone in mainland Europe in the form of Sven Botman, although they have been linked with a move for James Tarkowski, who will soon be out of contract, who would instantly add Premier League experience to Moyes’ side.
