A number of Tottenham Hotspur fans have been left elated after hearing that the club feel they can convince Hugo Lloris to sign a new deal.
Indeed, as reported by The Athletic, there is a ‘quiet confidence’ that a contract will be sorted for the French goalkeeper with his current deal set to expire in the summer.
The article goes on to explain that discussions have been ongoing intermittently over the last couple of months, and now it is understood that there is a desire on both sides to agree upon an extension.

Judging from these comments, it’s easy to see just how much adoration the Tottenham fanbase has for Lloris. In fairness to the Frenchman, he probably deserves such respect having played 388 games of the club, keeping 132 clean sheets along the way (via Transfermarkt).
Even so, now aged 34, it would be understandable if some supporters were ready to see the World Cup winner leave their club. But, as evidenced above, this lot still have a strong desire to have Lloris stick around in north London for a while longer yet.
