Speaking on his latest YouTube video, Tottenham Hotspur reporter Alasdair Gold has been discussing the latest on Harry Kane’s future in north London.

There are a matter of weeks separating Spurs and the January transfer window, which comes just a few months after the striker’s future was put under major scrutiny.

Do you want Kane to sign a new deal?

However, Gold has claimed the feeling at the club is that the 28-year-old is not expected to leave during the January window, despite interest from Manchester City during the summer.

It has been an incredibly slow start to the season for Kane, with just the one goal in the Premier League this term, but it is said he has been encouraged by the arrival of Antonio Conte.

Discussing what he had heard from people around the striker, Gold spoke of what Spurs fans could expect with the January window just a couple of weeks away.

He said: “I haven’t heard any word or anything that he’s currently looking to leave. I was certainly told by those around him that he wasn’t going to be looking to move in January. That was at the start, when he made that kind of declaration that he was going to stay at Tottenham.

“I was told very clearly, it certainly wouldn’t be looking at a January move. Hopefully, nothing has changed in that respect.”

TIF Thoughts on Kane’s future…

The Spurs striker has had a difficult start to the campaign, however, it sounds like the arrival of Conte is a step in the right direction for Kane as far as his future is concerned.

Conte arrives at Spurs with an incredible record of getting his hands on silverware, which according to reports, sounds like it is certainly appealing to the interests of the 28-year-old.

Despite coming close with Spurs on multiple occasions, Kane is still yet to get his hands on a trophy during his time with the Lilywhites and Conte is the man to potentially change that.

Kane will be 29 years old next summer and have two years remaining on his current deal. We feel at that age, it will potentially leave him with a big decision as to where his future lies, and we’re interested to see if that could lead to a contract extension at Spurs.
