A whole host of Newcastle United fans are gutted on Twitter as Keith Downie has dropped a fresh injury update.
Newcastle will be looking to rectify some of their defensive mishaps from Sunday as they travel to title-chasing Liverpool in midweek, but considering the Reds have scored an impressive 45 goals already, that will be an almighty task.

The Magpies have kept a sole clean sheet all season and Sky Sports reporter Keith Downie has claimed that Federico Fernandez, who has started just once in the last eight games, will now miss the majority of the festive schedule.

It has been a strange season for Fernandez, who has very rarely featured despite Newcastle’s defensive woes, and when you look at someone like Jamaal Lascelles, who was at fault for a goal against Arsenal as well as having already given away three penalties this season, it is surprising that this has not done anything to help Fernandez’s case to get a start.
