Leeds United have been linked with a £25m move for Blackburn Rovers’ star man Ben Brereton Diaz according to Alan Nixon.

It’s no surprise that the Whites are reportedly seeking a forward to sign in January when you consider their injury crisis in that position.

Patrick Bamford and Rodrigo are both nursing injuries, while the much-maligned Tyler Roberts has just a solitary goal in 16 Premier League outings this season.

Should Leeds sell Tyler Roberts?

No!

No!

Such issues are almost forcing Marcelo Bielsa into the market, with Blackburn’s Chilean marksman seemingly the frontrunner on Leeds’ transfer radar at the moment.

How these Leeds fans reacted

“No thanks. Nice backstory, but he’s not at the required level imo. Not sure where he fits in either.” @CrambazzledTask

“£25m? That’s 22-25 U23 players in Radz eyes, what makes you more money? One (maybe overpriced) £25m signing or 25 £1m potentials?? #lufc.” @scottlarsen_pi

“I wouldn’t mind this at all, it’s just £25m is ridiculous.” @Ash_LUFC_

“£25m… Would be good for like £10m but not £25m.” @lufcjm

“Leeds aren’t going to pay that for backup to Bamford.” @CheadleWhite

“No thanks.” @JF_LUFCmod

Who was Bielsa's first competitive game as Leeds manager against?

Although it may be in the Championship, the Chile international has been in mouth-watering form for the Lancashire club, with a staggering 17 goals in 22 games to date. According to Transfermarkt, Brereton Diaz has played 11 of those as a left winger, scoring eight goals from out wide.

It’s clear to see from above that the “ridiculous” price is the main reason as to why some Leeds fans are not happy with the transfer, but considering how crucial the 22-year-old is to Blackburn and how big a loss he would be if he is sold, it’s little surprise that they are reportedly demanding £25m for him.

Someone with that sort of scoring record and versatility would surely be a bargain for Leeds, especially given their proximity to the Premier League relegation zone and their current forward troubles?
